Abstract
The research "Rotterdamse Jongeren Zichtbaar" explores the experiences of young people who have dropped out of education. This study examines the underlying causes of educational dropout, the life trajectory of early school leavers, and the support they receive. The study includes interviews with eight individuals, aged 16 to 27, who dropped out before completing their education. Key findings are several shortcomings in the support system: fragmented care due to lack of collaboration between organizations, confusion about the youths' responsibilities, limited financial resources, and the absence of a central point of contact for youths to navigate available support. This study suggests improvements, including creating an overview of all contacts youths interact with, building a network of youth and experts to assist each other, and prioritizing support for youths with multiple problems, allowing them to set priorities together with professionals.
