Play:Date – Unlocking Cabinets of Play is a collaboration between National Museum of Singapore, artists and toy collectors to showcase stories of childhood toys through an immersive showcase, large-scale artworks and digital gamified experiences. Step into a world of playful nostalgia at the engaging experiential pop-up, developed as part of the Museum’s Collecting Contemporary Singapore initiative. The initiative aims to showcase and collect memories and objects from recent decades. There are four main segments to look out for at Play:Date with five commissioned artworks on the Museum’s exterior, 280 toys showcased by 10 collectors, digital game machines and a tunnel. The latest hawker-themed exhibition is bound to bring back memories and have different generations talking about hawker food.

Space Explorers: THE INFINITE will be makes its Southeast Asian debut at Science Centre Singapore As the world’s largest extended reality or XR space exploration exhibit, Space Explorers: THE INFINITE guarantees to be both an out-of-body and out-of-this world experience.

Carefully woven into this immersive encounter was more than 16 hours’ worth of video diaries of astronauts on their NASA mission stint. Being in their midst up-close made us realise the high level of aptitude and resilience required of these space personnel, considering the risks and difficulty of tasks in a foreign environment like space. It caused us to better appreciate their work and how what they do sustains life here on earth more than we think.
